Charlotte road closures this week: I-277 South ramp to I-77 South shut to Nov. 25, Central Avenue lanes to Nov. 6 and Tuckaseegee Road lanes to Nov. 11.

Last checked Nov. 2, 2026. This page is refreshed weekly. State closures come from NCDOT’s DriveNC work zone feed; city closures come from the Charlotte Department of Transportation’s street closure map.

Two governments close roads in Charlotte. The N.C. Department of Transportation runs the interstates and numbered highways: I-77, I-85, I-277, I-485, US 74 (Independence Boulevard), NC 27 (Freedom Drive) and NC 24 (W.T. Harris Boulevard). The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) handles most city streets, and other city departments close streets for water, sewer and storm drain work.
