How this fits the year
Homicides are the one major category CMPD reports as rising this year. The department counted 66 homicides from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, up from 60 in the same period of 2025, in its third quarter public safety update. Overall reported crime was down 17% over the same nine months, the department said.
CMPD’s weekend releases do not say whether any of the four shootings are connected.
